BIRMINGHAM & SOLIHULL — The Waiting Room, a vital one-stop Health and Wellbeing Directory that serves thousands of residents across Birmingham and Solihull, is facing a critical funding shortfall and is fighting to stay online. Without immediate support to prove its real-world value to potential funders, this crucial link to local care risks disappearing entirely.
For years, the online platform has acted as a comprehensive gateway to essential healthcare services, support groups, and welfare resources. Now, the team behind the directory is launching an urgent appeal to the community to share their personal stories and help demonstrate the impact of the platform before it is too late.
Over the last 12 months, the Directory has witnessed nearly 450,000 engagements. Our fear, Caron explains, is that if this platform closes, thousands of vulnerable people across Birmingham and Solihull will lose access to a platform that puts health and well-being support services at their fingertips. Our mission has always been to create environments where individuals feel deeply supported, valued, and empowered to thrive.
To secure the future resources needed to keep the directory running, the organisation must rapidly gather evidence of its real-world impact. Local residents, Healthcare Professionals, and support groups who have used the platform are being urged to come forward with their experiences.
