Forward for Life and Common Unity’s SCHEMA program receives CPD accreditation

Forward for Life, a leading suicide prevention and mental wellbeing organisation, has officially been accredited by the prestigious CPD Certification Service for its flagship SCHEMA suicide prevention training workshop.

This milestone recognizes the professional standard, quality, and robust educational framework of the program, which has been delivered across the UK to thousands of participants from both the public and private sectors for over a decade.

Co-developed by Forward for Life and Common Unity, SCHEMA is a comprehensive, one-day workshop meticulously designed to support frontline professionals and community members in effectively helping individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts. Grounded in evidence-based practices, the curriculum equips delegates with vital risk assessment tools, collaborative helper-relationship strategies, and a functional Life Plan Model built to help at-risk individuals choose life options.

The newly certified accreditation arrives just before the next scheduled face-to-face workshop, which is set to run on Thursday, 22nd October 2026. The upcoming session is specifically tailored for professionals and community members living or working within the Birmingham and Solihull areas.

“SCHEMA: An Approach to Suicide Prevention draws on the best evidence-based approaches to make a real difference in communities. Providing a safe environment to build confidence and practical skills ensures that individuals from all walks of life are empowered to save lives,” said [Terry Rigby, Company Director]. “This official CPD accreditation underscores our long-term commitment to reducing suicide stigma and expanding vital gatekeeper skills across the region.”
